James E. Carroll, Managing Partner

Seasoned executive with 20 plus years of extensive mid-market corporate transaction experience, on top of years spent in industry and the military. Current projects include growth advisory, acquisition search, capital sourcing, corporate sales & divestitures, and in-depth strategic and financial analysis.

Technology clients in particular will value Jim’s background, contacts and intimate knowledge of the IT industry. His early career was spent in the Information Technology ranks serving in engineering, IT management and senior management roles at NCR, Perkin-Elmer, Service Merchandise and Digidyne.

As founder of the technology firm SCS, Jim partnered with Borg-Warner to develop a stand-alone financial software application eventually used in more than 500 offices nationwide. The firm also became a leading technology vendor to government agencies including the Veterans Administration.

After selling his company to private investors in 1991, Jim co-founded CKCapital Partners in Atlanta, Georgia to provide mid-market Merger & Acquisition services exclusively to the Information Technology sector. Jim’s most recent venture was a partnership with Beach Fleischman & Company to form Oracle Capital Partners, a mid-market M&A, ESOP and corporate advisory firm serving the technology, manufacturing and food & beverage industries.

A former US Marine, Jim pursued his electrical engineering and business data processing degrees at Akron University in Ohio and Nashville State Technical Institute in Tennessee, and received an MBA degree in business management from Georgia State University. He is active in the Association for Corporate Growth, and recently served on the standards and ethics committee for the AMAA.
